Mykoco Web sites shall not automatically gather any specific personal information from visitors, such as your name, phone number or e-mail address. Mykoco shall only obtain this type of information if the visitor supplies it by sending Mykoco an e-mail or registering in a secure portion of the web sites.
All personal information created, held or collected by mykoco is protected. This means that, at any point of collection, the visitor shall be asked for consent to collect its information, and the visitor shall be informed of the purpose for which it is being collected and how to exercise its right of access to that information.
Mykoco employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our Web site, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. Mykoco makes no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of persons visiting the Mykoco web site unless an attempt to damage the web site has been detected.
mykoco.co.za does not normally use “cookies” to track how its visitors use this site or to determine sites previously visited. The system shall notify the visitor before any cookies are used, so that it may refuse them. (A “cookie” is a file that may be placed on the visitor’s hard drive without its knowledge by a Web site to allow it to monitor its use of the site.)
A visitor’s information shall be used by Mykoco employees, who need to know the information in order to respond to a request or to ensure the security of this system. Mykoco only shares the information a visitor gives Mykoco with another government department if its enquiry relates to that department. Mykoco shall not use the information to create profiles of persons, nor shall Mykoco disclose the information to anyone outside the federal government.
Occasionally, at mykoco’s discretion, Mykoco may include or offer third party products or services on its website. These third party web sites have separate and independent privacy policies. mykoco, therefore, has no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked web sites. Nonetheless, Mykoco seeks to protect the integrity of its web site and welcomes any feedback about these web sites.
By using the Mykoco web site, the visitor consents to Mykoco website’s privacy policy.
